Son of James Harrison Clark and Angeline A. (McVay) Clark.

Corydon, Iowa - Merritt W. Clark was born on August 12, 1871 in Lucas County, Iowa and died in Corydon, Iowa September 19, 1919, aged 48 years, 1 month and 7 days. Soon after his birth, his parents moved to Corydon and with but short absences this has been Mr. Clark's home since childhood. Having never married, he has always made his home with his parents. People of this vicinity remember him as a conscientious business man, both while he worked as a baker and while he was at work as a photographer. He leaves to mourn their loss a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Clark, two sisters, Mrs. Harry W. Semple and Mrs. O. L. Morris, and a brother, Fred L. Clark, besides a host of friends who share with the family their recent bereavement. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the home, conducted by Mr. Stubbs, pastor of the Christian church and burial took place in the Corydon Cemetery.
