PASSENGER TRAIN STRIKES AUTO AND KILLS TWO CHILDREN
Waynesboro was shocked Tuesday morning when it became known that the auto of Mr. James Anderson had been struch by the morning train of the Central at the crossing just beyond the city limits, and that two of his children, Joe and Hugh, aged 6 and 12 years, were killed instantly.
Mr. Anderson was driving the car, with three of his children and his son-in-law, Mr. White, of Augusta, as passengers. The car reached the track before Mr. Anderson's attention was attracted by the approaching train. It was to late to stop the car, and he passed across the track, the engine striking the rear of the car, knocking it down the embankment, and killing the two boys.
The other ocupants miraculously escaped with a few bruises. The bodies of the boys were placed on the train, and the train was backed to the station, where friends took charge of them.
The interment was at Keysville on Wednesday.
