Barbara Gail Barton of Irondale, Missouri was born on Sunday, August 24, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late, Virginia (Goggin) Bennett and Grady Bennett. Barbara departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-two years, five months and twelve days.

Barbara was united in marriage to Norman Francis Barton on May 10, 1958.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Norman Francis Barton, Sr. of Irondale, Missouri; one daughter, Robin Horton and husband, Greg of Irondale, Missouri; two sons, Norman Francis Barton, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Brian Bennett Barton of Irondale, Missouri; two sisters, Mona Thurman of Cadet, Missouri, Jeannie Shelton and husband, John of Cedar Hill, Missouri; one brother, Bobby Bennett and wife, Mary of Eureka, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Dale Horton of Irondale, Missouri, Whitney Gail Horton of Irondale, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Jacob Lee Horton of Park Hills, Missouri, Joseph Dale Horton of Park Hills, Missouri; aunt, Louise Sucharski of Bismarck, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Alan Joseph Barton.

Barbara was a very strong Christian who loved the Lord and was very generous to all of God's creations. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved spending time with them all. Barbara enjoyed gardening, painting landscapes, rural pictures and also loved keeping a diary with a wealth of information to pass along to her family. She will be deeply missed by the many lives she has touched.

Visitation was held Friday, February 8, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Pastor Rhonda Davis officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Norman Barton, Jr., Jeremiah Horton, Terry Davis, Mike Davis, John Barton and Mark Nance.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
