Was Walking on Slab Near Winans Corner East of the City When Hit.
Ralph Bohnart 21-year-old farm youth of seven miles north Meadville was injured critically Saturday night shortly before midnight when he was struck by a motor driven by Ross Moore at the corners three miles east of Chillicothe on U S Highway 36 The youth was taken to the Chillicothe Hospital where he died shortly after 8 oclock (sic) Sunday morning The body was taken to the Norman mortuary The force of the impact broke Bohnart s neck right leg and right shoulder He is a son of and Mrs Jo Bohnart
Moore and Arnold Pepper of Brookfield Moores companion drove to Chillicothe police headquarters where they gave an account of the accident Moore said the lights from three car approaching from the west blinded him and he did see the youth until his car struck him
Bohnart had spent Saturday in Chillicothe and was hitchhiking home when the accident occurred It was several hours before the identity of the young man was established Officers communicated with parents who came here Sunday afternoon and identified the body
Funeral services will be from the Norman mortuary chapel Tuesday afternoon at one o clock by Rev LaVerne L Rudolph pastor of the First Christian Church Interment will be in the Parson Creek cemetery (sic) north of Meadville
No inquest was held in connection with his death
