She was born on June 16, 1923, in Harrisburg, to the late Edward and Grace (Hunter) Piper.
She was married to the late Harry Burgess, who preceded her in death in 1978.
She was employed for more than 10 years as manager of food services at Reading High School, and had also been employed at the former Thomas' Restaurant for more than 19 years. She also was a foster grandparent for many years.
She was a member of the Hope of Glory Ministries, Reading.
Eleanor is survived by one son, Andrew Lorick Jr., Reading; two daughters, Dorothy Ellision and her husband, Jerry, Reading, and Joan Piper-Stubbs, Reading. Also surviving is one sister, Ada Mae King, Detroit, Mich.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Edward Lorick, and five brothers.
