Robert Kaegi, sixty-nine, of 1031 Francis Ave., collapsed and died Saturday morning while waiting for a bus on his way to work.
Kaegi, employed at Frank Ix and Sons, New Holland, was in a shelter in front of the RCA plant when stricken. He was taken to Lancaster General Hospital by the RCA ambulance and pronounced dead on arrival at 6:20 a.m..
Death was caused by a coronary occlusion, according to Dr. Charles P. Stahr, deputy coroner.
Kaegi was born in Zurich, Switzerland, a son of the late Jacob and Seline Hurlimann Kaegi. He had been a resident of Lancaster for the past 47 years and had been employed at the New Holland firm the past 12 years.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church and treasurer of the Swiss-American Sports Club of Lancaster County.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Kuenzi Kaegi; two sons, Robert F., Melbourne, Australia, and Ernest, Phoenix, Ariz; a daughter, Gertrude wife of Carl M. Shissler, Lancaster; a sister Mrs. Elsa Raiser, Zurich; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
