The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Barton, Jr., of Sardis community on Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock and took from them their precious baby who suffered two weeks with pneumonia. Little Norma Moveta was their only child. She was 15 months old. She came into the world on December 13, 1935 [sic 1933] and departed on the 22nd [sic 21st] of March.

During her short stay here she was loved by everyone, always being of a good disposition and carrying a smile with her everywhere. She will be missed not only by her bereaved parents, but by a host of relatives and friends. All that kind and loving hands could do was done, but God knew best and came to carry her home where she will have perfect rest and will know no more suffering.

The little body was carried to the Sardis [Brown] Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. where the funeral services were held by Rev. W. D. Sherwood and Rev. Jones of Mt. Zion and the laid to rest there until the Lord shall come again when we shall meet and be with her to part no more.
