Mildred was the fourth of five children born to Alf and Maude Cash Short..Their first daughter. She was born in 1919 Searcy Co, Arkansas.

Mildred married first to Coy Horton in 1935, Searcy Co, Arkansas. They had one child, a son:
Wilbur Ray Horton -Born 15 APR 1936 at Point Peter, Searcy Co, AR.- Died 12 DEC 2011 at Gillette, Wyoming.
In 1938 She married second, Garland Troy Delk (1921-2011). He is the son of Raymond Claud and Harriett Etta Manes Delk.
Mildred and Garland's children are:
Geraldine Delpha Delk- born 1941 at Snowball, Searcy Co, Ar
Troy Eugene Delk born- born 1948 at Gilroy, Santa Clara Co, CA
Mildred has many grandchildren and grgrandchildren. and now grgrgrandchildren!
