Mrs. Birdie S. Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie Simmons Jones, 47, who died Sunday afternoon in General Hospital, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at her home, 927 Scovell St.

The Rev. A. T. Gildea will officiate, and burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones died of a heart illness of several weeks duration.

Born in Ashland City, Tenn., she moved to Nashville about 30 years ago and had spent the rest of her life here and in St. Louis, MO.

In 1917, she was married to Vernon Jones, a roofing and sheet metal worker, who survives.

She was a communicant of the Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. William W, Boyd; a son, Wallace R. Jones, both of Nashville; her mother, Mrs. Ivey Simmons of Ashland, a sister, Mrs. W. I. Gebhardt of Nashville; a half-sister, Miss Emma Sanders of Ashland City; a brother, Jessie Simmons of Ashland City; three half-brothers, Leo Sanders and Edward Sanders of Ashland City and Litton Sanders of Louisville, KY.
