BRIGGS, Hazel Eiland, age 89, long time resident of Montgomery, AL. passed away July 10, 2009, in Birmingham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years James Woodard Briggs, her parents Steven and Jessie Mae Eiland, and her sister and brother-law- Doris and Ben Norman. She is survived by her brother Douglas Eiland and wife Cubie, daughter Brenda Slonneger and husband Tom of Birmingham, Al, son Jim Briggs and wife Ann of Meridian, Ms., granddaughters Jessie Garris and husband Gene of Calera, Al. and Rachel Briggs of Charleston, S.C., step-grandchildren B.J. Slonneger (Broocks), Beau Slonneger (Heather), Erin McAdams, brothers-in-law Max Briggs and wife Louise, Tommy Briggs and wife Nancy, sister-in-law Sybileen Walters, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and extended family. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel, Montgomery AL, with Reverends Max Briggs and Tommy Briggs officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to the services. A Memorial Mass will be offered Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing
