Donald E. Dutch Privett, 78, of Bicknell, passed away July 17, 2008 at 1:43 am at his residence with his family at his bedside. He was born Sept 13, 1929 in Bicknell the son of William Riley Privett, Sr. & Ruby Violet (Vale) Privett. He attended Bicknell High School and started working at the Enoco Coal Mine in 1948. On December 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ellen Fowler and was blessed with over 60 years of being together. In 1960 after 12 years in the mines, he started his own construction company and worked as a carpenter until 1988. He began working along with his wife as managers at Bicknell Manor until his retirement on March 1st of this year. He attended the First Nazarene Church in Bicknell and was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and his great granddaughter. He was a lifelong resident of Bicknell and was proud of the community where he resided.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara Ellen Fowler Privett. Their children, Donald Wayne Privett of Indianapolis, IN and Jane Ellen Covert and her husband, Ron of Wake Forest, NC, blessed them. Their Grandchildren, Melissa Jane Neal, and her husband Glen, Ryan Andrew Covert and Sarah Ellen Covert and his first great granddaughter, Kyleigh Ellen Neal. His brothers, William Riley Privett, Jr. and his wife Georgia Lois (Rogers) Privett of Indianapolis and Harold Privett and his wife Alicia of Greenwood, IN. His sisters, Doris Korb and her husband, David of Solsberry, IN, Wanda Evans of Bicknell and Naomi Jamison and her husband Joe of Bicknell. An uncle, John Privett of Bicknell and his aunts, Betty Huse of Greenwood, IN and Loretta Lagneu of Princeton, IN, a brother in law, William Fowler of Anchorage Alaska and a sister in law, Mable Fowler of St. George, Utah also survive. Several nieces and nephews will sadly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers in law, Pete Fowler, Ernest Seaton, Claude A. (Buddy) Thompson and James W. Evans, and a sister in law, Betty Seaton.
