Mrs. Brown's Services Set
Katherine C. Brown was born Jan. 19, 1907 at Altus, and died in Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City April 10. She was 72. Funeral services will be conducted from the Presbyterian church in Sayre Friday, April 13, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenwood Buzbee officiating. Martin Funeral Home of Elk City will be in charge of the services.
She was married to Thurmond G. Brown May 29, 1929 and they moved to Sayre in 1936 where she was employed as a deputy treasurer at the Beckham county treasurer's office for several years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and where she taught Sunday school for several years. She also was a member of PEO.
Survivors include her husband, Thurmond of Sayre, and a son, Sam of Enterprise, Ala.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ermine Van Vactor [sic] of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Hazel Woods of Chickasha; also by 3 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Presbyterian church in Sayre from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday. The casket will not be opened following memorial services.
