BEARD, BILL - Carlisle Cemetery in the First District of Williamson County is the final resting place of PFC Bill Beard. Reared in the Bethel Community of Maury County, Beard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Beard, and was born November 7, 1921. He was killed in the battle of St. Lo, France, July 5, 1944. His body was returned for burial in 1948.
