ALLEE, John--died 13 Aug 1903, aged 80. He was born in Covington, Ky., 22 Dec 1822. He married Olive Ann Dehart at Danville, Ind., 22 Dec 1842. He was a son of Joseph & Harriett (Cruse) Allee, of Va.. Mrs Allee's parents are Mr & Mrs William DeHart. Four sons were born to them & 2 are living now---William, of Minneapolis, Minn. & Edward W., of Isadora, Mo.. John & his oldest sons enlisted in the 22nd., Ind. Inf.. One of the sons died in the army, & John served about 2 years. He joined the Freewell Baptist church in 1858 in Pratsburg, Ind.. Moved to Worth Co., in 1866. In 1842 he comminced at the blacksmith trade, & worked at it until 1861. The funeral was just 1 year after the death of his wife, being the same month, day & hour.
