Retired Army Chief Warrant Officer W-2 Francis G. "Rich" Richards died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at the Eisenhower V.A. Medical Center, Leavenworth, Kansas. He was 69.
He was born October 27, 1930 in Wisconsin, the son of Emil Isidore and Lillian Maude Bergeron Richards.
He was career military, serving in the Air Force and the Army for more than 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Leavenworth Country Club.
He married Betty Richards. She survives of the home. He is also survived by five children and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Jack Divine of the First Christian Church will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society, 743 Cherokee St., Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
