Edwin Richard Apps, 91, of Normal died at 12:11 p.m. Sunday (July 5, 2009) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
He was born in Bloomington to Palmer Richard and Maude Elizabeth Barling Apps. He married Irene W. Newby on Nov. 16, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jean (Wayne) Childers and Janet (Robert) Briggs; a son, Jerry (Deborah) Apps; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Louis Seeger; a daughter, Joyce Watkins and one great-grandson.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
