Howard Slonacre Bunting was a native of Pottstown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His father, Samuel Miller Bunting was a well known milliner in Pottstown. Mr. Bunting was instrumental in the development of the Arlington area of Fort Worth, Texas on the late 1800 and early 1900. He named streets after several of his children, designated a Hamilton Street, named for the shoe company where he served on the Board of Directors and also called one road Bunting Street. Approximately eight years following the tragic death of his wife, Allie Willie Bunting, he remarried.
