Olive Eva Akers, 82, died Thursday morning, February 13, 1986 in the North Big Horn Nursing Home in Lovell after a long illness. She was born November 5, 1903 in Mussellshell, Montana, the daughter of Ezra "Major" and Julia Smithy Cartwright. She married Cecil Forest Akers April 5, 1924 in Roundup, Montana. They ranched and farmed and ran wild horses in Montana until her husband died in 1957. She moved to the Powell, Wyoming area 20 years ago then moved to the nursing home in Lovell about a year ago. Mrs. Akers helped provide for her sisters and brothers families in addition to raising her own family.

Survivors include one son, Barry Blaine Akers of Deer Lodge, Montana, one daughter, Karen Ann Walthall of Colburn, Idaho, one sister, Margaret Timbermann of Albuquerque, New Mexico, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. in Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell with Bishop Jack Nicholls officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
