Beth Alene Wilcken Adams, 84, of Evanston, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her son's home in Evanston.
She was born Sunday, June 14, 1925, in Abraham, Utah, to George Q. and Vera Ann (Humphries) Wilcken.
She married Thomas Marion Adams Jr., on Sept. 12, 1951, in the Salt Lake City Temple in Utah.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed being a visiting teacher, cub scout den mother and a member of the singing mothers. She went on four church missions, including proselytizing in California at the age of 21, and in Birmingham, England, with her husband. She also served as a Temple worker in Washington, DC, Denver and Billings. She was interested in genealogy, made quilts for LDS humanitarian services and loved to sing.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Adams of Evanston and Steven R. Adams of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Elaine W. Nelson and Dorothy Winberg; a brother, Dee H. Wilcken; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Louise Wilcken and grandson Richard Thomas Adams.
Visitation will start at 3:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the LDS South Stake Center, located at 632 Twinridge Avenue in Evanston. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at the Lovell Cemetery.
