Johan Ludvig Dahl, Born May 29th. 1881 in Oxford, New Jersey, buried at Diamond Lake, died in Tyler Hospital April 19th, 1930, and was buried from Diamond Lake Church in its cemetery April 22nd, 1930.
He was hurt by a horse and operated on and died on the fifth day. Several hunderd people from near and far have attended the funeral.
He was loved by people for his goodness and kindness.

John Dahl met with a very serious accident last Monday morning when he was kicked in the abdomen by a horse. It is stated that the gall bladder was ruptured. The patient was take at once to Tyler hospital and at present seems to be improving, and his chances for recovery seem to be favorable. His many friends sympathize deeply with him and hpe soon to learn of his complete recovery.

JOHN DAHL SUCCUMBS TO INJRY; BURIED TUESDAY
John Dahl passed away at the Tyler hospital at six o'clock Saturday evening, April 19th, from the effects of a severe injury caused by the kick of a horse. The accidnet occured on Monday morning, April 14th and he was taken to the hospital immediately, where it was found that the gall sack had been ruptured by the blow. An operation was performed and everything medical skill could command was done to relieve his intesive suffering and save his life but all to no avail.
John Ludvig Dahl was born at Oxford, New Jersey on May 20th, 1881, and moved with his parents and other members of the family to Lincoln county in April, 1886. The family resided in Lake Benton for a short period, afterwards moving to Verdi township and later moving onto the old Dahl homestead in Diamond Lake township, where he grew to manhood. He was unmarried.
In 1913 he and his brother, Chris purchased the old Jullus Beck farm in Diamond Lake township, where he has resided for several years, the last six years in company with his father, Andrew Dahl, Sr. His life was devoted to farming and threshing. He was of a gentle and kindly disposition and was beloved by all with whom he became intimately aquainted.
He is survived by his father, four brothers: Chris, Andrew, Jr., Fred and Jens all of whom reside in Diamond Lake township; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Fehrman of Lake Benton, Mrs. Chas. Tyler of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Harry Bridenstine of Des Moines Iowa, and many other relatives. He was the eldest living son and the fourth born of a family of twelve children. His mother died six years past and three brothers and a sister have preceded him in death. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed in the homes of his relatives and also in the community.
Funeral services were held from the home at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon and two o'clock from the Diamond Lake Danish church, conducted by Rev. K. Jensen Hansen, pastor of the charge, assisted by Rev. T.A. Goodmonson of Slayton. Interment was made in the Diamond Lake cemetery.
Many were the beautiful flowers. The casket was taken to its last resting place over a flower strewn patway. Two flower pieces were especially appropriate. One, a gateway, a symbol through which every one must at some time pass, was beautifull in pink, white and green, on which was the one word "Amen". The other, a cross, which we all must bear but some day lay aside as did John Dahl, when the finger of God touched him and he slept.
