ORVIN RUE ABBOTT, age 73, of Monticello, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 27, 1999 at V. A. Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born on September 6, 1925 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Rupert Orvin Abbott and Cordelia "Cordie" Belle Mancoe. Both parents preceded him in death.

He married Ethel Beatrice Bertram, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by 5 children Orvin R. Abbott Jr. of Monticello, Kentucky; Sheila Jackson and Sandra Criswell, both of Lexington, Kentucky, Pamela Bertram of Tucson, Arizona, and Donna Coffey of Nancy, Kentucky; 1 brother Kenneth Abbott of Berea, Kentucky; 8 sisters Juanita
Coffey, Nadine McCure, Wanda Humble, Gwen Dick, all of Monticello, Kentucky, Nancy Ipock of Fishers, Indiana, Linda Perdue of Wilmore, Kentucky, Brenda Orr of Monticello, Kentucky, and Carlotta Abbott of Lexington, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 2, 1999 at 1 P.M. in the funeral home with Brother Jerry Browning, Brother Stan Stevenson, Brother Elmer Watson, and Brother
Rusty Watson officiating. Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.

Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
