They continued to travel together after their children were grown, visiting Russia, Ireland, Barbados, the Panama Canal and Hawaii. She valued stories and, through storytelling, she tried to pass on the stories of the lives of those who came before her. With her stories, she painted pictures for us of Mama Bette, LV, her Grandma and Grandpa Couch, her little brother, Bobby, and her mother and father, just to name a few. Researching genealogy was one of her favorite hobbies. She enjoyed reading recipes, inventing recipes and cooking in general. She spent more than 50 years making incredible meals for a large family (some of them over a camping stove), and she always made it look easy. Many of our best memories of her will live along side of her recipes for cornbread dressing, creamed potatoes, cornbread and jam cake.
