Mrs. Dan (Jeanette) Lanser, 82, of 1275 High Bluff St., died Monday, July 6, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving husband of 65 years and her children.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m. The Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on May 7, 1927, in Dubuque, daughter of Mark and Rose (McFarland) Anglin. She married Daniel C. Lanser on Oct. 30, 1943, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Jeanette was very dedicated to her husband, their 12 children and their families and friends.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the Women's 600 Bowling Club.
Jeanette was known to be the best fisherman and cook at Bass Camp Resort in Minnesota.
Surviving are her husband, Dan; children, James (Ann) Lanser, Jean Gross, Jackie (Vern) Kluesner, Judy (T.C.) Christianson, John (Jeanie) Lanser, Joan (Robert) Gansemer, Joyce (John) Hirsch, Jane (Dan) Tressel, Jerry (Carla) Lanser, Joe (special friend, Dee Kieler) Lanser, Janann (Greg) Oertel and Jay (Shelley) Lanser, all of Dubuque; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley (George) Pins, of Dyersville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mark Anglin; and a sister, Harriet Curtis.
