SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of Life services for Lether Irene Nelson Bankston will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2009 in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Reverend H.D. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Centuries.

Lether Irene Nelson Bankston went peacefully to be with the Lord on July 2, 2009 at age 102 1/2. Irene, as she was known by, was born on January 27, 1907 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana to the late Robert Lee and Lillie Webb Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Roy Bankston, two brothers: Autre L. Nelson, Sr.; and John Laurie Nelson, one sister; Pauline Langford, three nieces, one nephew, a number of great nieces, nephews and some dear friends.

Her family would like to thank Gloria Blake and the staff at Heritage Manor South especially Cocoa and Angela for their care of Mrs. Bankston these past months.
