Lois M. Jobes, 74, La Porte, passed away at 1 p.m. Thursday (July 2, 2009) at Life Care Center of Michigan City.

The funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Root Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Lois was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Bald Knob, Ark., to the late Frank and Lucille (Cross) West.
On June 12, 1993, in Mountainview, Ark., she married William L. Jobes, who passed away July 2, 2008.

Surviving are three sons, Bill R. Lawrence, Lonnie A. Lawrence and Michael Dewayne (Brenda) Lawrence, all of Michigan City; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-children; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elaine Townsend, Netterlin, Texas, and Carol West, South Bend.

Preceding her in death are three brothers, Billy D. West, James H. "Jake" West and Harold West.

Lois was a member of TOPS and a loving mother and grandmother.
