"April 9, 1877

"Ten years ago on this day, Gertrude was born, only to die on the 13th of August, and leave an eternally beautiful baby-memory in her parents' hearts. She lies in the little lot in Beverly Cemetery, with a little white cross at her head and two other little white crosses beside it."
