Obituary:
Anna Elizabeth Byers, wife of William Byers, of Rockhill Furnace, passed away at her home, Thursday evening, September 30, 1926. Death was due to complications. The daughter of Thomas Armstrong and Mary Houck Armstrong, she was born in Mercersburg, Pa., about 65 years ago. In 1884 she was united in marriage with William Byers of Richmond Furnace, Pa., and to the union were born four children. They are: Albert Byers, Aughwick Mills; Mrs. Isaac Watters, Blacklog Valley; Bruce Byers, Rockhill and Mrs. Nelson Moore, Rockhill. The following brothers and sisters also survive: George Armstrong, Mercersburg; Mrs. Amos Everitts, Big Spring, Md.; Mrs. Hattie Newman, North East, Md.; Mrs. David Mound, Mercersburg, Pa. Mrs. Byers was an estimable woman, highly respected by her neighbors, a good mother and homemaker and she will be gratly missed by both her family and by the community folk. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the home in Rockhill Furnace in charge of the minister of the United Brethren Church and Rev. Fred Cox, of Mount Union. Interment in the Orbisonia cemetery.
