Mrs Alice Marie Shirk, 79, died Tuesday in a Tulare Hospital following a lengthly. Anative of St Louis, Mo., Mrs Shirk came to Tulare in 1917. She was married to Oscar A.Shirk here and they lived breifly in Modesto, where he died in 1946. She returned to Tulare to make her home. Mrs Shirk was a member of the California Grange at Ceres and Tulare, St Aloysius Catholic Church and the Catholic Womens Study Club.
Survivors include a sister Mrs Mary Hoffman, Tulare; two step sons, Kenneth Shirk, Lewisville, Ida., Kermit Shirk Tulare; three nephews Emmett and Herbert Hoffman of Tulare, and Jesse, Lemoore Navel Ajir station; a niece Mrs. Walter (Hilda) Burnett, Coalinga; five grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Arosaary will be recited Thursday at 7:30 pm in the Goble Funeral Chaoep. Mass will be said at 9 am ;in St Alosius Catholic Church, With Michael O'Conner officiating.
