On August 7, 1948, he and Margaret Smith were united in marriage and to this union were born two children, Dolores and David.
Hugh made the oil field his lifelong career. He worked for many drilling companies over the years including Kerr-McGee, Beacon Drilling Co., Beard Drilling, Falcon Seaboard, Jernigan Drilling and Culver Drilling.
During his early drilling days, he, Margaret and the kids moved around several times with the various companies when work called for it. He is also a WW II veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.
Hugh is preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers and sisters: Edwin, Lillian, Dollie, Lester, R.P., Ila Lee, and Fleeta; and his son, David Robinson on November 22, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Margaret Robinson of the home; his daughter Dolores Reeves and her husband Glenn of Elmore City; daughter-in-law Lahoma Robinson; granddaughters Rhonda Freeman of Noble, Melissa Frazier and husband Shawn of Elmore City, Talana Keeler and husband Eric of Lindsay, Sheena Scott of Purcell; only grandson Michael David Robinson and wife Brandi of Lindsay; 9 great-grandchildren; Alaizia, Tyler, Bryan, Kyle, Jordin, Kobe, Kinley, Kyleigh, and Keira; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Elmore City Church of Christ, Westview Boys Home, or Tipton Childrens home.
Funeral services for Hugh will be Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Elmore City Church of Christ with interment to follow at Elmore City Cemetery under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
