Services were held at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hayti last Friday for Mrs. Julia Velma Montgomery, 73, who died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 2. The Rev. A.C. Downs of Pascola officiated and burial was in Maple Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge.
Born September 11, 1891, in Caruthersville, she was the widow of John Montgomery who died on October 10, 1945.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Clatie Barnes, Mrs. Mary Jarboe, Mrs. Lester Sherwood and Mrs. Fern Watson; four sons, Paul, Sterling, Johnny and Charley Montgomery; one brother, Clyde Treece; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
