Mary Sophia Nielsen was born October 18, 1887 in Castle Dale, Utah, the daughter of Niels Christian & Johanna Marie Larsen Bolt Nielsen. She married Arthur Magnus Abelin July 8, 1908 [?], son of Magnus M. & Johannah Marie Christiansen Abelin. Their children included: Florence J., twins Dearl M. & Earl N., Arthur Milton Jr., Apollo C. and Magnus Lars Abelin. Sophia married a second time to Charles Alvin Torgersen on September 22, 1921.

Mary Sophia died February 20, 1966 in Price, Utah.

SOPHIA TORGERSEN

Mrs. Sophia Torgersen, 78, Emery, died of causes incident to age Sunday in a Price hospital.

Mrs. Torgersen was born October 18, 1887, in Castle Dale, to Neils C. and Johanna Larson Nielson. She married Arthur Abelin July 8, 1908 and he died February 4, 1919. She later married Charles A. Torgerson September 22, 1921 and he died January 8, 1957. She was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include son and daughters, Milton Abelin, Emery; Mrs. Clinton (Florence) Anderson, Latuda; Mrs. Curtis (Mildred) Brinkerhoff, El Sobrante, Calif.; Mrs. Ned (Marjorie) Burr, Carpenteria, Calif.; Mrs. Don (Lennabell) Williams, Kearns; Mrs. Donald (Doraleen) Gates, Salina; Mrs. Joe (Eloise) Sheridan, Wendover; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs Minnie Olsen, Price; Mrs Wilford (Bertha) Wilson, Salt Lake City.

Burial was in the Emery cemetery under direction of the Fausett-Etzel Mortuary.
