Captain Samuel W. Venable, one of Petersburg’s wealthiest and most prominent tobacconists, died yesterday evening. Captain Venable was one of the best-known men in Virginia. He was born near Farmville. Three children survive him, one ex-Congressman, Edward C. Venerable.
