He is the son of Adolphus S. & Elizabeth Dupes Phillips. He married Ella Swartz, Elizabeth L. Mott and they proceeded him in death then finally on January 10, 1917 he married Daisy H. Snyder and they remained married until his death. He had many children: Walter, John, James, Clarence, Carl, Hazel, Laura, and Mary. His main occupation was a farmer in McCuthenville,Ohio. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Grange No.2360, and Wyandot County Pomona Grange.
