Derk B. Walker, 32, of Rushville, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born April 18, 1968, in Rushville, he was the son of Clarke and Deborah (Self) Walker.

He had lived most of his life in rushville. He was a 1986 graduate of Park West High School in St. Louis, Mo. He graduated from Vincennes University in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in rushville. He was also a member of the NRA and the Indiana Carst Conservatory in Indianapolis. He had worked with Butler Telecom in Fort Wayne for three years.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Clarke and Patricia Walker of Rushville; his mother and stepfather, Deborah and Ward Farlow of Rushville; his fiance, Leslie Ficklin of Rushville; two brother, Chad Michael Walker of Rushville and Michael Anthony Pyrchla of Fort Wayne; grand mothers Clara (Mrs. Keith) Becker of Metamora and Betty Seichowski of Rushville; and grandparents James and Pauline Self of Rushville.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Ramon Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Rushville, with the Rev. Mark Walker and the Rev. Timothy Bonneyt officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville.
