Vocalist. Best known as a member of the 1970's Rhythm and Blues trio "The Three Degrees." The Philadelphia-based group is most noted for the number one hit "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" (1974) and the platinum song "When Will I See You Again?" (1974). After recording their first top forty hit "Maybe" (1970), the group had numerous television appearances on such programs as "The Ed Sullivan Show," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," "Sanford and Son" and "Soul Train." Following her departure from the group in 1976, Pinkney worked as a personnel coordinator and an administrative assistant. She died from acute respiratory failure.
