Marvel M. Beery, 85, Swiss Village , Berne, died unexpectedly at 11:20 a.m. Monday at Caylor-Nickel Hospital , Bluffton.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church , U. M. W. of the church, and Eastern Star.
Born in Monroe on January 9, 1901, she was the daughter of Lewis and Hattie Andrews-Mills, and was married in 1917 to Albert Beery; he died September 21, 1970. Survivors include two children, Lewis E. Beery, route 4, Decatur, and Mrs. Vern (Mary Jane) Hornbacher, route 7, Angola ; one sister, Mrs. Mary Oliver, LaPorte; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Winteregg-Linn & Haggard Funeral Home, Rev. Bill Moon officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorials are to First United Methodist Church .
