CUMBERLAND,MARYLAND -- Ruth M. Creegan, 91, of Cumberland, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at the home of her son, Bernard E. Creegan, Hagerstown.
Born on May 22, 1908, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sarah (Davis) Stevens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard D. Creegan, June 17, 1971; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Mrs. Creegan was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Church Sodality.
Surviving are two daughters, Mildred A. Scott, Cumberland, Mary I. Dunn and husband John, Cumberland; one son, Bernard E. Creegan and wife Patricia, Hagerstown; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Christian Wake will be conducted Thursday at 8 p.m.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday at 9 a.m. with the Msgr. Thomas R. Bevan as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
