The funeral for James Sidney Douglas Hacker, 91, of Athens, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with burial in O'Neal Cemetery.

Mr. Hacker died Friday, June 26, 2009, at home after a long illness. He was born September 6, 1917 in Limestone County to Samuel Emmett Hacker and Hattie Inez Towe Hacker.

Mr. Hacker was a farmer and worked in sales for Beasley Produce for 40 years. He was a member of the Coxey Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Opal M. Adams Hacker; his parents, Samuel and Hattie Hacker; a son, Danny Douglas Hacker; a grandson, Michael Douglas Hacker; and brothers, Herman Hacker and Lloyd Hacker.

Survivors include son, James Kirby Hacker and wife Debbie of Athens; daughter, Betty Jo Adams and husband Charlie of Athens; half-brother, Sammy Burns of Arkansas; sister, Westella Davis of Athens; half-sister, Inez Burns of Arkansas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
