Mrs.Dorthea V, Wood, 25, wife of Ward Martin, died Tuesday morning at 2:15 at the home, seven and one-half miles east of Portland. Death was due to an illness of two years from heart disease, with her conditon be critical for the past two days.
The deceased was a daughter of Alvie O. Wood and Margaret E. (Walker) Wood, and was born at Pennville, February 8, 1916.
On Marc 14, 1936, she united in marriage to Ward Martin, who survives. She is also survived by the father, and three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Cecil Wood of Winchester; Walter Wood, of Redkey; Charles Wood, of Porland, and Luttie Stroble, of Bellefonttaine.She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Mount Zion Evangelical church, eight miles northeast of Portland. Rev. C.W. Walmer, pastor of circuit will officiate. Internment will be in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
