OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Catherine Carr, 90, widow of David Carr, Wabash R.R.1, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Bachelor Creek church. James Saylor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Falls cemetery. Death which occurred Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock followed a prolonged illness. The body will be returned Friday evening from the Hoover Funeral Home to the residence of Claude Carr, a son, with whom she made her home, and where friends may call.

Mrs. Sarah Catherine Carr was born Oct. 27, 1851 in Wabash county to Silas H. and Emily (Carothers) Stone. She was married Feb. 20, 1870 to David Car who preceded her in death 39 years ago.

She had resided for 85 years on the same farm seven miles north of Wabash on state road 15. She became a member of the Bachelor Creek church at the age of 13 years and was the oldest living member of the church.

Survivors are two sons, Claude and Frank Carr of Wabash county; three daughters, Mrs. Ora Tomson, Miss Emma Carr of Wabash county and Mrs. Maud Sholty of Alma, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granchild.

Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by two sons, Irvie and Eldervert, and one daughter, Mrs. Faye Krom.
