My mother's uncle and my great uncle. He was my grandpa's brother.

The family arrived in the USA from Switzerland in 1883, and Uncle Fred was the first one born in the US.
The family located near Farmer City Illinois at first and then moved to Livingston County Illinois in 1893. He helped on the farm, and then later moved to Ohio, where he lived the rest of his life.

We saw my uncle about once a year. His middle name was listed as "Bell" on his draft card. I have no idea where that came from, and I will have to research that further.

After his first wife died, Uncle Fred later married a widow, Anna Mollenkopf. Both Uncle Fred and Anna were buried next to their first spouses.

Rest in peace Uncle Fred.

Thank you to Mary Beth Emery Kraner for taking this photo of the headstone for me.
