Mrs. Byers was born Wednesday, February 28, 1923 in Graham Co. NC to the late Thomas Carringer and Kitty Jenkins Carringer.
Mrs Byers was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church. She was a delightful person who enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, talking to her many friends and family members on the phone, and visiting with all of them as often as possible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bradley Byers; two brothers, Bruce Carringer and Jack Carringer, and a grandson, Byron Roberts.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Allen & Betty Byers of Murphy, son & daughter-in-law, Burt & Linda Byers of Murphy, son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Diane Byers of Kennesaw, Ga, son, Tommy Byers of Brasstown, son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Julie Byers of Brasstown, sister, Ada Carringer Crisp of Robbinsville, brothers Neal Carringer, Ted Carringer of Knoxville, Edgar and T.C. Carringer of Ellijay, GA; sister, Jean Carringer Shelton of Ellijay; 13 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Hickory Stand Methodist Church Cemetery.
She is one of my favorite paternal aunts. I have wonderful memories of Aunt Doris. She was with me n March of 1980 when I went into labor with my son and I was able to tell her that I loved her before she passed away.
