Services for Eddie L. "Ted" Barrett were held Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home. The Rev. Tommy Anderson, the Rev. Randy Edgar and Kenneth Breland officiated. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
Mr. Barrett, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in the Choctaw Health Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He was a self-employed locksmith and a mechanic for several years and served in the the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Sue Howard in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mattie Sue Barrett of Philadelphia; two sons, Chuck Barrett and Billy Barrett, both of Union; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Barrett, Chris Dean, Cody Dirtinger, Robin Keen, Scotty Keen and Scott Bassett.
