Mr. Barrett, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, in the Choctaw Health Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He was a self-employed locksmith and a mechanic for several years and served in the the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Sue Howard in 2005.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mattie Sue Barrett of Philadelphia; two sons, Chuck Barrett and Billy Barrett, both of Union; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Barrett, Chris Dean, Cody Dirtinger, Robin Keen, Scotty Keen and Scott Bassett.
