Her mother was Elizabeth 'Eliza' Rhea, born 3 September 1833 in Cedar Bayou, Harris County Texas and died 25 April 1924 in Hearne, Robertson County Texas. She is buried in Norwood Cemetery in Hearne. Nellie was born in Galveston along with 3 of her brothers Charles, William and James."
