Alice S. Thornhill SUMMERVILLE - Alice S. Thornhill, 93, entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2010 at the Village at Summerville, Presbyterian Home of South Carolina. Residence 1325 Edgewater Road, Pineville, South Carolina. Mrs. Thornhill was born July 6, 1916 in Sumter, South Carolina and is the widow of Jessie J. Thornhill and the daughter of the late James (Jim) and Minnie Moore Seegars. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Alice is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Thornhill Bolchoz and son-in-law Joseph E. Bolchoz, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina and nineteen nieces and nephews. She was a charter member of Belle Isle Presbyterian Church and served as prior Sunday school teacher, member of the Women of the Church and church representative for greater than twelve years to the Village at Summerville, Presbyterian Retirement Community of South Carolina. She was a member of Belle Isle Garden Club and owned and operated Thornhill's Snack and Tackle and Fish Camp on Lake Marion for numerous years. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Belle Isle Presbyterian Church, 3457 Highway 45, PO Box 175, Pineville, South Carolina 29468 or The Village at Summerville, 201 West 9th North Street, Unit 140, Summerville, South Carolina 29483-6721. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of the Village At Summerville, (201 W. 9th Street, Summerville, South Carolina) on Tuesday, February 2 at 7:00 PM with the family receiving friends prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 3 at 11:00 AM at Belle Isle Presbyterian Church (3457 Highway 45, Pineville, South Carolina 29468). The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial, St. Stephen, South Carolina. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the administration and staff of the Village at Summerville and Odyssey Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
