Fannie died on Friday afternoon around 4pm in an auto accident after an enjoyable day of visiting with her siblings in the Goshen area. Her brother, Rudy Anderson also died in the accident.
She was born in Newton County on Sept 3, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Menno & Amanda (Hochstetler) Anderson. She was educated in Mount Ayr schools. She married Elmer J Kauffman in Rensselaer on March 20, 1972. He died Nov. 27, 2003.
Mrs. Kauffman had worked in the housekeeping department at Jasper County Hospital for several years. She was a member of Burr Oak Mennonite Church.
Suriving are step-daughters, Jeanette (Jack) Reimer of Gridley, IL and Joella Hays of Springfield, IL; a brother, Andy (Marilyn) Anderson of Kouts; and sisters, Emma Yoder of Mendon, MI, Rosa Lohr of Kentland, Clara Hochstetler, Sarah Hershberger, Millie Miller, and Tillie Shank all from Goshen.
The funeral service was at 2pm (CDT)Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Burr Oak Mennonite Church northwest of Rensselaer with the churches pastor, Debbie Voss officiatied with Steinke Funeral Home handling arrangements. Interment is in Burr Oak Cemetery.(1 1/2 mile south of the church) Memorials are suggested to be gived to the Burr Oak Mennonite Church.
