Reverend Lawrence H. Hagaman, 81, of Sugar Grove, died Wednesday afternoon, January 17, at Watauga County Hospital.

He was born December 23,1908, in Sugar Grove, to Hardie and Ella Harmon Hagaman. He was a retired Baptist minister and a member of Timbered Ridge Baptist Church. He had served as pastor of the following churches: Friendship, Green Valley, Beech Mountain, Fall Creekm Timbered Ridge, Zion Hill, Bethany, Elk River, Pilgrim, Flat Springs, Sugar Grove, Elk Valley, Evergreen, Little Antioch, Mabel, Mount Lebanon, Beech Valley, West View, Mount Pleasant, Whaley, Proffit's Grove, Mount Gilead, Forest Grove, Pleasant Grove, Elk Knob and Roan Creek.

Survivors include his wife, Annis Jones Hagaman, five daughters, five sons, three sisters, two brothers, one half-brother, 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverends John R. Greene, Clyde Cornett and Ray Greene. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Church Cemetery.

Hampton Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
