Following notations were in his bible(copy printed in the Fall 2001 edition of the CENTRAL KENTUCKY RESEARCHER): Horatio Chandler was baptized November 6, 1814. He commenced acting as J. P. Licensed to preach on Aug 2, 1817. Ordained on 5th day of April, 1818. He moved to a new house in the Fall of 1812 (Upper Place). Polly was baptized Aug 6, 1819 and Nancy was baptized Aug 13, 1819. John put out for himself about August 1, 1819. Upward of 3 years before 21. Wyatt Shipp filled by place Fall 1823 and kept it Spring 1825.
Called to and accepted the pastoral care of Good Hope Church. Also became a member thereof July 8, 1826 having taken a letter from Pitman in the month of November.
Joel put out July 9, 1826. and to new house 24th Nov. 1827.
Louisa Ann ran away with Henry Brown on 14 Jan 1834. Tuesday Morning. being 19 years, six months and nine days old.
Feb 21, 1834 gave Joel. FILLIS. a man got of Milton
In 1835 April 21. sold BILL to Hugh Mitchell for $605.00
Salem Church deposed 16 October, 1837.
Pleasant Hill constituted 23 October, 1837.

Gabriel Madison Chandler died Oct 27, 1819.
Elizabeth Chandler died Thursday evening about 8 o'clock. April 1, 1824. age 40 years, two months and 17 days.
Conney Chandler was delivered of a daughter born June 1, 1825, and died Wednesday, 9 a.m.
Richard and Nancy Murray's son, Joel Milton, died Tuesday Morning, Nov. 5, 1833.
My poor aged mother died Monday morning between 4 and 5 o'clock June 23, 1834.
Father's black woman, Rose, died Tuesday Aug 22, 1837.
William Thompson (Conney's father ?) died June 1, 1839 at 3 o'clock a.m.
My poor aged Father died Saturday Dec. 9, 1843 at 11 o'clock a.m., being 88 years ____and 14 days.
Philip Crowder died May 2, 1843 in State of Illinois.
Sarah Crowder died Sept 12, 1843 in State of Illinois.
Samson Wright died Sept. 15, 1846.
Joseph C. Woodson died April 26, 1847.
Joel N. Chandler died 23 February 1847.

Poor little William M. A. Chandler died Aug. 30, 1850 at 11 a.m. aged eight years, 3 months and 27 days.
Horation Chandler died Oct. 10, at 8 o'clock a.m. AD 1857, being 78 years, eleven months and 20 days of age.
Robert Bruce Chandler died April 28, 1860.
Lucy Ellen Chandler died May 5, 1862.
Elizabeth Chandler died March 26, 1866.
F. M. Chandler died Janurary 12, 1868

In the 1850 Taylor County Census, Horatio Chandler is head of household 171. He is 71 years of age, a farmer, born in Virginia. His wife, Canny, (Most likely not his first wife) is 43 years of age, and also born in Virginia. Their children are: Francis M., 19; Robert B., 16; Mary E. J., 13; James E., 10; William M. A., 8; Lucy E. J., 5; Emma V., 2 years of age. This family lived next to Thomas E. Cowherd, age 28, on the one side, and Thomas Durham, age 72, on the other side.

In 1860 Taylor County, Canny Chandler was 55 and head of house. The children: James E., 20; Lucy E., 14; and Emma V., 12 years old.

Rev. Horatio Chandler was the son of Rev. John Chandler and succeeded his father in the pastoral care of Good Hope Church in Taylor County. Horatio was born on 20 Oct 1778 and he died on 10 Oct 1857. He was of good moral character and was enterprising in business. He succeeded his father as clerk of the Russell Creek Association. He is buried in Taylor County next to his parents (Good Hope ?). Horatio's children were John B., Mrs. Polly Shipp, and Joel N. Chandler.
