Elaine Mahan, beloved mother, mother-in-law, cherished grandmother and friend to so many, passed away May 5th at the age of 75, after a courageous battle with cancer. During her illness, she continued to make all around her laugh with her wonderful sense of humor and we were so proud of her great attitude. Elaine was born and raised in Edinburg, Scotland but has lived in Texas since 1956. She married Leon Mahan in 1957. They moved to Austin in 1974. Elaine worked at Dillard's in Barton Creek, in the Ladies Shoe Department for many years before becoming ill. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Mahan and her parents. She is survived by three children, Michelle Stewart and husband Michael of New Braunfels, Debbie Ohlman and husband Steve of Dripping Springs, and Philip Snyder of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Zachry, Cody and wife Tyree, Tyler, and Krystal; and by numerous relatives and friends. Elaine's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Fain, Dr. Lindsey, and the staff at Christopher House. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Burial will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
