Alice Roberts Carter, 72, died Feb. 21, 1992, in the Powell Hospital of cardiac arrest.

She was born Sept. 29, 1919, in American Fork, the daughter of Lorenzo and Leilia Roberts.

She married Norval Edwin Carter, May 16, 1940, in Heber City.

Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.

She grew up and attended school in American Fork.

After her marriage she lived in Panaca, Nev.; Roosevelt, Lehi and Provo, and for 45 years in Byron, Wyo.

She wrote for the Lovell Chronicle and served as a visiting teacher, Primary and Sunday School teacher, and missionary correspondent for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She enjoyed watching sports and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include three sons, Norval Kent Carter, San Jose, Calif.; Allen Brent Carter, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Shelden Carter, Orem; two daughters, Sharon Kaye Dusenberry, Aurora, Colo., and Sue Ann Lewis, Rock Springs, Wyo.; three of her sister's children she raised, Dan Williamson, Coos Bay, Ore.; Don Williamson, Charlotte, N.C., and Sheila Becker, Powell, Wyo.; 16 grandchildren; one brother, John C. Roberts, American Fork.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifton, Glen and Howard Roberts; one sister, Faye Williamson, and baby daughter, Sherrie Lee Carter.

Funeral was Feb. 24 in Byron. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center, tonight at 8 p.m.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Provo City Cemetery, 610 S. State, Provo.
